|
139 years to the day and 44 years after his death, we celebrate the life and times of the pioneer of Pan-Africanism. In his classic poem, “Children of the Moon” he concludes with the words: “I saw the face of Freedom, And I died” Of course he saw the face of Freedom in Ghana signalling the liberation of the continent and the beginning of black pride. And he died a fulfilled man buried in his ancestral land. There will be a year long exhibition of his works, speeches, paintings and rarefied memorabilia.
