The Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has congratulated Ghana on its sustained political, economic and social growth 50 years after attaining independence. The Nigerian President was speaking at a Special Sitting held by Parliament to re-enact the events that took place some fifty years ago on the eve of Ghana’s Independence from colonial rule. The Nigerian President, who was also the Guest of Honour for the celebrations described Ghana as the Black Star of Africa and urged the country to continue its good work in a continent that is fraught with difficulties.
